The Hidden Word — Week of April 21

He was born on April 22, 1724, in Königsberg — East Prussia — and he never left it. Not once. He had no need to. The entire universe was inside his head, and he spent his life mapping it with more precision than anyone before or since. What he found at the centre of that map was not what he expected. There was a door. And behind the door was everything that reason, no matter how pure, no matter how disciplined, can never reach. He called it the thing-in-itself. He proved it existed. He proved it was permanently closed to us. This week’s hidden word is where he began.
